In the late '90s, I completed my first commissioned pencil portrait. The subject was a young girl who'd passed away, and I really wanted to get it right. After several hours of poring over every detail, I took a deep breath and handed over the finished product.
My client cried; I was hooked.
But life got in the way. I thought drawing was an awesome hobby, but it certainly wasn't practical.
Fast forward to 2019. A friend asked if I knew anyone who could draw a pet portrait. I half-joked she should pay me to do it. She agreed, and I haven't looked back.
It took me 20 years to reignite this passion!
